bayti.com announced today that it has acquired rekingdom.com and all of its assets thus forming the largest and most advanced real estate portal website in the Arab World. The acquisition is accompanied by some logistic and technological changes as well. Some of the technological implications are:

• All development and enhancements to the portal website will be performed by bayti.com’s team of highly skilled software engineers.
• bayti.com has chosen Microsoft .NET 4.0 as it’s development platform and Silverlight 4.0 as its Web 2.0 presentation vehicle, thus becoming the first company in the Arab World to adopt these new technologies and go live with them. This announcement comes as Microsoft has just released earlier today .NET 4.0 to the public. All web entities acquired from rekingom.com have been moved to the new .NET 4.0 platform.

Logistically, bayti.com has announced plans to move its offices from Beirut, Lebanon to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in order to be closer to the focal point of technology and real estate advancements in the Arab World. This move will take place in the next few months and will be completed by the end of June 2010.
